The Kintbury equity strategy was launched in May 2015. The strategy invests in Developed European equities with a market cap greater than $3bn, which trade greater than $10mn per day. The strategy aims to combine fundamental long-term bottom up company analysis with a low net to the market and a pragmatic risk management approach. Typically the book contains 25-30 longs and 25-35 shorts and the maximum position size is 10% of NAV. In most markets the strategy will run between 20% net long and short, both dollar and beta adjusted and with a gross of 200% to 250%. However, following what the manager deems to be an extreme market sell-off, the dollar net can increase to 50% net long, although the beta will be lower. To counteract the increased net, the gross will be lowered to circa 150%.
Kintbury Capital is a boutique alternative investment manager, founded in 2015 by Christopher Dale, our CIO. We focus on a fundamental research approach applied to developed European equity markets. Prior to Kintbury, Chris was a partner at Millennium Capital, from 2005 to 2014, where along with his partner, he ran a Pan-European low net long/short book.
